ECR house is located in Chennai just off the Eastern Coastal Road (ECR). It is a single story structure whose usable space is expanded to include a garden landscape and yoga pavilion on the upper terrace all existing on a very small site. The plan has been configured to appropriate the side margins (setbacks provided by code) to act as a courtyard and  attached garden for the various zones. These spaces along with the lap pool, likewise situated in this otherwise reserved perimeter zone, help amplify and expand the views and usable spaces. On the upper floor, the garden and pavilion re-create the ground, extending one’s vistas and visually engaging the broader landscape of the adjoining properties.
