House Around A Tree

Designed on a 36m x 24m plot, this urban house is configured around a large existing tree.  Architecturally, the house is broken into two blocks, built in an RCC frame and brick infill with a lighter structure in steel connecting the two blocks. The connection is articulated in a manner that the sense of adjacency of the spaces to the tree is maximized. The house incorporates water bodies and courtyards such that the interior and exterior spaces feel contiguous and the divisions between the inside and outside are blurred.
